Our Community Values
At La Montaña, our community thrives on a foundation of love, connection, and shared responsibility. Our values reflect the principles that guide our actions and relationships, fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment. We celebrate love for ourselves, each other, and the earth; we commit to stewardship of our shared resources; we embrace adventure and growth; and we practice gratitude in every aspect of our lives. Join us in embodying these values as we collaboratively create a sustainable future and co-create the magical healing center that exists on this mountain..
Love: Love is the foundation of all our actions and relationships. It is expressed through kindness, compassion, and the way we care for ourselves, one another, and the land. Love in community means fostering an environment where people feel safe, respected, and appreciated. It involves acting with patience, offering support in times of need, and seeing the inherent worth in every individual. We also extend love to nature, treating the earth as a living partner in our journey toward sustainability and well-being. We commit to showing care and compassion for ourselves, our community, and the environment, contributing to a culture where love is at the heart of our collective experience.
Community: We recognize that community is built through meaningful relationships, shared responsibility, and open communication. We individually prioritize our relationships in order of : 1. God/ HP/ The Divine, Etc, 2. Self, 3. Others. We understand that by doing this we best care for ourselves and the community as a whole. Being in community means creating a culture of trust, cooperation, and inclusiveness, where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. We are committed to resolving conflicts with empathy, celebrating diversity, and contributing to the well-being of each other. We are aware that we are stronger together, therefore we prioritize making decisions and executing projects with each other whenever possible. We actively participate in building a supportive, inclusive community by contributing our time, energy, and care. We commit to open dialogue, conflict resolution, and foster a spirit of belonging for all members.
Stewardship: We recognize that our home extends beyond our individual dwellings to the land, natural resources, and relationships we share. Stewardship means taking personal responsibility for caring for our environment, ensuring sustainable practices, and leaving things better than we found them. Each member is committed to nurturing the spaces we inhabit and fostering a respectful connection with nature and others. Stewardship also means supporting regenerative practices—whether that involves reducing waste, growing food, or maintaining communal spaces with care. We commit to acting as a steward of the environment, resources, and relationships within the community, contributing to the long-term health and harmony of our shared home.
Strategy: Strategy involves thoughtful planning and decision-making to achieve our shared vision. As a community, we commit to acting with intention—balancing the needs of individuals and the collective while working toward a sustainable future. We embrace flexibility and resilience, understanding that strategies evolve over time as we learn from experience and adapt to changing circumstances. We engage in community planning processes, honoring both short-term needs and long-term goals. We consider the impact of our actions and participate actively in creating sustainable, adaptive strategies.
Adventure: We have a unique opportunity for personal growth, learning, play, collaboration and exploration. Adventure is about embracing challenges with curiosity, seeing setbacks as opportunities, and cultivating a playful, open-minded spirit. Whether working on new projects, exploring the land, or engaging with others, we embrace the journey as much as the destination. We approach life in the community with curiosity and a sense of adventure, being open to new experiences, challenges, and opportunities for personal and collective growth
Gratitude: Gratitude is the foundation of joyful living. We acknowledge the gifts we receive from the land, our higher powers, the community, and each other. Practicing gratitude means recognizing the contributions of others, expressing appreciation, and finding contentment in simplicity. Through gratitude, we cultivate a mindset of abundance and generosity. We commit to practicing gratitude in our interactions with others and in our relationship with the land, recognizing the value in what we have and the gifts we share.
