A story of

Julia Maritza and her mother Carmen Maritza were strongly and spiritually guided to the land they are now restoring on a magical little mountain in Manatí, Puerto Rico. On this healing land, a journey rematriation is unfolding. Carmen left the motherland at a young age and later in life had her final and fourth child, Julia who was raised in New Jersey. Fast forward a few decades, after a capitalist burnout, Julia was inspired to seek out a total 180 degree pivot on her journey to recovery. The gravitational pull to Puerto Rico was undeniable. In 2022, the journey of connecting to their ancestral roots began as they ventured to begin nurturing 15 acres of abandoned yet vibrant land. They are now cultivating a permaculture farm and healing center that honors a deep connection to this sacred place. With 15 acres of land, 10 bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, an event space, and a pool, they definitely stay busy with a of variety restoration projects. It is possible only through the love and support of amazing people that visit through the work-exchange program. The power of this land is immense, and the importance of sharing it with others has been profound. Their vision is to share the land's restorative power with others, fostering community, growth, and healing for all who visit. Julia & Carmen are doing their life’s work on this land and harness so much passion and joy while doing so.
